Benefits in Seychelles,
with the context that matters.
Seychelles combines public healthcare for citizens, retirement contributions and paid leave with employer-defined benefits. Eligibility depends on employment status and, for some schemes, citizenship. Employers and employees share compulsory pension funding for covered members.
Medical support, additional allowances and voluntary pension saving can complement the legal baseline. A benefit’s written terms determine covered family members, employee costs and access. Self-employed contractors manage their own registration and pension obligations; their client agreements determine any additional support.
This guide covers national private-sector employee benefits and identifies citizen-only public healthcare separately from employment rights. Pension membership and public holiday entitlements follow their own statutory conditions.
Statutory vs employer benefits in Seychelles
Start with the baseline. See where employers add more.
Statutory rules can be conditional. “Common” describes employer practice for the stated audience, not a guaranteed entitlement. Follow each topic for eligibility and qualifications. This guide is general information, not legal or tax advice.

Contractor benefits in Seychelles
Self-employed people may qualify for free primary healthcare as citizens and can enrol in the compulsory pension scheme where applicable. Paid employee leave and employer pension contributions do not automatically apply to independent contracts.
